con rods

Alright guys I was going to 16v my vtr as I miss the power of my old vts.
But keep looking more at building a vtr turbo.

Do the forgerd pistons on the market fit to standard rods or do they only work with forged/steel rods.

If they where to be fitted to standard rods with apr bolts what is a safe level of boost these could be run at. Not on the hunt for chasing power but good built realiable engine. With many miles of smiles and boost.

You can use the standard rods with forged pistons.. Make sure they use the right size pin.

A few people have used standard rods with forged pistons with over 300hp.

If going forged pistons and arp bolts, id save an extra 200pounds and get rods too.

I used to be able to get pistons and rods at trade but not spoken to my contact for a long while

Hmmm does sound promising. I have a t28s turbo here off a gti-r sunny do we think this mite be a bit big?

    A gt28r you mean?

It will be a little laggy but not horrific. That turbo is 300hp capable.

Hmm I'm only after around 200 at the wheels so think a new turbo will be in order.

think you will find 'only' 200@wheels plenty.

That's the main aim still making it useable and in such a light car dont need monster power.
