twin fan setup

    i had a problem with my fan on my GTI as it kept blowing the fuse... the outter fan casing was broken so i fished out for a new fan today and managed to get one

    the fan in the one i got today was different to mine, mine just had 2 wires coming straight from the fan going to the plug in the fuse box under the engine bay

    where as the new one i got today had a relay and everything not just the two wires like my original

    all i did was leave the fan in the new casing and fit my original fan into the other side and it works fine without a problem, but i was just wondering how i would attach it to run a twin fan setup?

    Run wires from it to the dash with a switch mate.

    Wanted it so that they just came on together mate can't be bothered fixing switches in etc lol

    connect it to the other fans power supply so it comes on with that one

    so i just splice the main 2 wires from the fan to the 2 on my original fan?

    Yea mate just match the wires and clip/solder them together

    Ok cool, was thinking of doing this but wasn't sure if it would cause problems as the one I got today had a relay etc lol just wasn't sure why that one did and mine didn't
