You do get a smoother finish if you spray your rocker, but using high temp paint means you get a really deep enamel finish that laquer can't give you.
AND, the better you are the less obvious brush strokes u leave behind.

#52Thats my old VTR's bay, dont have any of my new one !

Lots of cold air, cheap as chips! -
#53Thats alot of air feeding action
-
#54

Mines totally standard at the mo, but pretty clean as you can see.
The Grey parts are letting it down a bit. I've tried autosol'ing them but that doesn't seem to be working. Is it worth sanding them down then using the autosol? Or just go all out and give them a rub down and spray? If so what colour?
Btw, mattwesty, what colour has your rocker been sprayed? -
#55Quote:Originally Posted by peebeeThats my old VTR's bay, dont have any of my new one !

#60And the AX gti pushes more power although less torque but as this thread seems to be about engine bay styling and seeing as the GTi block has the same exterior proportions, and identical fueling system bar the style of injectors (quad instead of single jet) then I figured it was relevant to the threadQuote:

ets2k9 i thought you was guna keep the spec r theme?wheres thet fuse cover from?
In my defense though I brought it before all the other spec R it just took ages to arrive.
I replace it with a spec r in the near future as it'll drive me mad.
I have an OCD type thing about stuff matching. -
#71

This is the car featured on Ebay advertising Spec-R stuff they even do a P/S reservoir
.

#74Some nice engine bays guys!!! Here's my old one.......
-
#75heres my engine bay with new bits.
-
#76i'll get a pic up 2mrw of mine.
im a bit skint at the mo, so me and a mate built a kit usin the filter from my old motor as a temporary measure til i start bankrollin again.
will get a pic up in the mornin and it is quite comical but it works which i am quite proud of. i cant feel any loss of power so i thought fcuk it i'll leave it on.
by the way it cost £20 in parts except the filter which i already had(apparently it is by powertec but unbranded!, bought it from a carnoissuer shop and it did have a powertec label and invoice stuck to the box?!?!?!)
dont think there will be many requests for me to do custom kits tho! LMBO
watch this space!! -
