8v Engines

after getting rid of the saxo i got a 1.4L 306 what differences are there with the parts that will fit i.e. would a manifold off any 8v saxo/106 fit, lookin for performance but saxo parts are easier to get hold of than any labeled as 306 so wondering what will fit the engine, any help appreciated, cheers guys

Exhaust manifold will probably need modifying as the 306 has a lower suspension subframe whereas the saxo has chassis arms.

damn thats saxo manifolds out the window lol anything else? the coilpack is completely different from my saxo as its jamed between the inlet and the rocker cover and a twat to remove and re-fit as i found out the other day

Probably a later model engine as your saxo iirc had the pack at the side on a blacktop with ht leads

The silvertop coilpack is where you said
With cam on manifolds same issue with the tu engined 205s the mani needs modifying to go over the subframe

Induction kits may fit but the likes of racelands ect may need modifying to reach the slam panel but a bmc or open filter would probably be ok thats about it really the rest well nobody tunes 1.4s you can just get a gti6 and mod that a mate tried to mod his 306xsi and struggles to find anything proper for that (hes a pleb and probably didnt look though)

The rest of it would be 306 stuff likely a be4 box and shafts ect

not trying to be a dick mate but you want more performance so you buy a 1.4 306? when they are slower than a 1.1 saxo?

    1.1 saxo=74.5 bhp per tonne 12.4 sec to 60mph
    1.4 306=74.3 bhp per tonne 14.2 sec to 60mph

alsooo what car were your old ronal wheels off?

I think the reason phils asking is he's probably kept his mods off the Saxo and wants to make use of them not 'I want to mod my 1.4 to the max'

I'll give him his due moving to a 306 tho his Saxo was a death trap, used to crab up the road if you followed him lol
