timing an 8v

    boys and girls what do you use to lock the crank via flywheel on an 8valver
    like is there a proper locking pin i can get from pug or citroen?
    or will a drill bit fit? if yes what size?

    Its a 8 or a 10,but i have never bother just mark them so its easy to see.
    but dont move the crank if your heads off.

    i just wacked a drill bit in the hole. no idea what size, probably about 6mm

    I usually mark it but this time round wanna do it spot on.

    Yeah just be gentle with it - dont want to snap a drill bit. Not sure why its been said you cant turn the block over, there are no liners that can pop out and move on the cast iron blocks
