confused.com....man at tyre place said he couldnt balance my wheels

as the title suggests,

had vibration in steering wheel, which of course 99% of time means balancing out, took to my local tyre place to get done. Matey boy said they cant balance my wheels (standard VTR alloys). I pointed out that they had been done in the past with small weights being attached, matey boy said that they wouldnt do alot but make it worse as these sort of wheels balance from (and then he pointed at the centre of the wheel) hub i guess?
if this is the case, where in hell can i get them balanced?

Was it not because there solid centers? I know only tyre spot near me do them local/backstreet garage don't have the gear to do it

aha that could be the issue. Would somewhere like.....shit fit or halfords (tyre place) or national be able to ?

National near me does them think your best bet is to give them a ring and just ask if they balance solid centered wheels

when we get the solid center wheels in at work we pop them round to national
