has anyone tried replacing there positive battery terminal connector. i recently bought my saxo and mine is knackered. previuos owner put a jubellee clip over it to hold it down
i got a universal connector from halfords but the posi on the car doesnt appear to come off. should i look into removing the entire wire and plug?

right, undo the nut on the saxo positive terminal that connect wiring to the terminal. connect the wiring to the bolt that is on the halfords terminal then either break the old red plastic crap citroen terminal off the battery then remove the stupid screw terminal left. bobs your uncle job done. thats how i did mine last week

okay buddy thanks. il tackle that tomorro. i couldnt see a way to remove the posi terminal on mine. the negative has a removable bolt. but from what i could see it looked like the posi side was clamped into the wires. but will defo have a good look tomoro, if it aint snowing lol.

get a pic up of your posi terminal bud as it might not be an original citroen one. i was talking about a red plastic screw on thing basically, earth should also look the same but green. if not then it might of been changed in the past.

it might be a case of cutting wire stripping back a little of the wire covering and just putting it in the end of the terminal that has the two screws

is the wire not connected to the terminal via a 10mm nut on top of the terminal.

Don`t early saxo`s have the above mentioned red & green terminals whilst the later ones have what I call standard terminals?

should have one red and one green yes. also on the red terminal there should be a
10mm nut that holds on the wire to the starter motor.

im gonna have to get a proper look in the morning. because the jubelee clips in the way i couldnt see it properly and dont want to disturb it untill i actually do work on it incase it breaks. i thought it was a normal connector with the normal nut and bolt to tighten it to the battery terminal but couldnt see any other nut and bolt further down on the wire to remove the connector from the wire. like i said the negative terminal has one i can remove to renew it. so would i be better taking it from the starter moter and renewing the wire and connector if it cant be removed seperatly. or would it be okay to cut the wire and put a new one on from halfords?
it needs renewing because i think the previous owner has overtightened the terminal nut and knackered it by the look of it.

get a pic up matey, as sounds like your really confuzzled. lol....... it will be perfectly fine to cut wire and strip back the cable covering so you can put into the halfords one where the screw is in the top of. will get a pic of mine up for you later to show what ive done.
