can anyone give me some clues on why my car would skip like its on flat tyres when the steering on full lock. its non power steering and i know the tracking is slightly out but not tremendously. its like its sliding on full lock at slow speeds forward and reverse?

#3lol, i dont think anyone would take the time to do anything like that on my little 1.1 eastcoast. i not long bought it and i have had this trouble on a car i had before, all i can think is a arm or bush play. its like its running on flat tyres on full lock. its only got little 13 inch rims on it. its hard enough trying to turn it at slow speeds without pas but with a skipping front its quite annoying lol

#4Hmm, Does sound odd tbh.
Best thing to do, would be to get it jacked up on the front and secured somewhere like on the Sill if Possible, and give all the Bushes and balljoints a wiggle to see if anythings worn or loose. -
#5i been looking on the net for similar probs seems to be a common thing with many cars. but no real answers. i know i got a dodgy drivers rear shock according to the garage. so i need to fit a new one of them. i was also thinking mabey the tracking is out on the rear? its the strangest thing. its like the car is running on its rims on full lock.
i am quite happy to fix all the other problems on the saxo i got (there are quite a few) but this steering problem is getting to the point where its annoying to drive. it also feels like after a certain point when turning the steering wheel even at speed it becomes real hard work, say like a roundabout. if its more than 1 turn of the wheel the car becomes hard work. this is the first car iv had with no power steering, is it really that hard to turn with out pas? -
#6oh by the way the car has ax gt alloys on them, ugly as f*** i know. would that affect the car at all?
