Fitted a new mani, but now it Hesitates on acceleration

I've fitted a new mani, along with new gaskets. Everything is air tight and clean as a whistle.

I've connected the green Lambda sensor (The one that is normally at the top of a Mk2 Standard manifold, before the cat) to the bottom of the mani and sealed the other one off.

When i sometimes accelerate, i can feel the car hesitate/ loss of power. The only way to describe it is like your riding a bike and a big gust of wind comes along and you slow right down, when the wind stops your back to your normal riding speed.

Does anyone know what it could be?

It also sometimes rev's up and down at the traffic lights. To probably 1.5K. If I don't put my foot on the accelerator and rev it about 3/4k, the car will conk out, but i'm guessing this is the ICV?

    Thanks

have you disconnected the battery then re connect so your ecu can reset its self

Could be a coincidence it's started happening after you fitted a new exhaust mani?

I'd personally remove the throttle body and all its sensors for a good clean. Also give the MAP sensor a quick blast of carb cleaner to remove any oil.

I just had a little thought, perhaps it could be the smoke from my engine bay fire and has worked its way around the ICV/ T/b sensors and coated them in some soot?

I'll carb clean them tomoz and i'll report back.

    Nah.

    Garuntee its the lambda sensor.

    Had something similar.

Take it out clean it put it back in tight, check the connections, the connections on mine had come out just one wire, i soldered it back on but was a crap solder. It was better but not quite perfect still not smooth enough. Took it out did a perfect solder and it idle very smooth indeed.

Just goes to show the plug or wires leading to the plug might have been pulled so have a good check of them.
