knocking when pulling off...

   anyone had a knock sound when pulling off.
   when i pull away i sometimes here one knock from the front wheels, had the car on a ramp today as needed new tyre and tracking done, so i checked the lower arm bushes and their fine...
   my thoughts are that the knocking noise is from the drive shafts...cv joints
   if anyone has had this problem before let us know.
   only happens now and then, should i worry...and cant feel it through the steering wheel, just the sound.

   I get the sounds as well, when conering to the left as well, not sure what it is but sure ill find out soon as i got my mot comming up lol :| Ive seen threds about it saying it could be the wish bone and like you said something to do with cv joints or drive shaft :s

   haha i get some knocking when pull off i jus use some lube now

   it could be a strut top mount? mine is sometimes quite noisey, but going through a quiet spell just now

   yours is the driver side cv joint that needs looking at

   as mentioned, yours sounds like the c.v. joint. have a look if the c.v. boots have come of, its like a rubber cone that goes over the joint. there will be grease everywhere if its come of.

   i had a knocking when pulling off once, a piece of foam behind the headboard soon cured it though

   thanks guys, was on a ramp yesturday for the tracking, dnt think theres grease around it but will have a look again
