Just had head gasket done....now car keeps cutting out

Hi all, just after a bit of advice

Just had my head gasket done as i was told it was on its way out. Now the car seems to feel like it is going to stall when changing down to first gear when slowing down, and a few times it has just cut out while im doing this.

Anyone maybe have an idea as to what may be wrong? The car never did this before the head gasket was changed.

    Car is a 2000plate 1.1 desire

    Thanks in advance

ICV needs cleaning most likely, this seems to be the most popular question asked on here

    Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah its just behind the throttle body, 2 hex bits to undo on the back of it and pull it out, give it a clean off and that should sort your problem. If it turns out that doesn't resolve it then it could also be a faulty temp sensor. This is the green on in the thermostat housing

Very much doubt cleaning the icv will fix the issue although it will properly help smooth the car idling out a little.

Doing the head gasket could cause a number of things as quite alot has to come off.

Timing could be out on cambelt.
Loose plug check all connections are plugged in securely.
Check inlet manifold bolts are done up tight.
Check tempreature sensors are screwed in tight and plugged in.

All the little sensors on top of the engine have to be un-plugged or come out so just go over these and checked they are tight and plugged in.

Also check the small thin pipes that plug into the inlet manifold are on properly.

    Hope this helps good luck
