Help? 1.4 furio

    So.. im new and stuff so im abit nervous haha.

    Right my saxo has developed a slight misfire (put put put noise from exhaust, cant really feel it in the engine) and taps loud, valve clearances arent correct im guessing.. could this be the cause of the noise from the exhaust? the noise is there warm and cold but more so when its warm and its just been revved cant feel it when im driving or when im sat in the car at the lights, please help its doing my head in haha cheers

    It could be quite a few different things, but I would probably start by giving it a service if it hasnt had one in a while and checking the spark plugs or replacing them, the tapping will be the tappets which probably could do with adjusting. not sure if that would cause the misfire though, wouldn't of thought so.

    i changed the plugs, air filter, oil filter and oil when i got the car just something i could do on the drive. ive had the car for little over a week and the tapping started the day after i bought it along with the miss as im pretty sure it wasnt there when i bought it (previous car had a valve problem so was pretty cautious about misfires).. ive checked through my history and its had the injectors and the coil changed not that long ago, very confusing.. i mean it doesnt effect the drive at all but i want a performance exhaust system for it but it'll sound rubbish with it constantly "putting"..

    oh something i didnt mention the misfire seems to be only there at idle and below about 2000rpm?

    Sure the plugs arent knackered?? Or even the coilpacks are prone to just dying. I had one that was fine up to 3k, then missed, then fine after 3.5k. In the wet it was deadly and would miss like mad. Grabbed a new one for 45 and the only thing ive had to change is one of the boots as the spring melted!

    but coilpacks and spark plugs cause misfires under load? my car doesnt misfire at all when i drive its only one you can hear its strange.. has me confused
