Howdy! The saxo needs a new clutch and after alot of huntin around ive found out the rough age of my engine (due to conversion) it has a 1plug ecu which i was told is pre 2001... Thing is ive now found 2 clutch kits which could match. one is for years 96-98 and the other is for 98-99. Can anyone help me out here.. pretty stuck :/
which clutch do i buy?

#2What is it first, 1.1 1.4 etc etc..
-
#31.6 16v vts conversion in a westcoast shell

#4Buy a clutch from Mandyslover70 i got one for my vts last week very fast delivery and nice guy.
-
#6should be a 200mm clutch I believe, Get a Valeo one though as it'll last.
-
#7This is what i mean both clutches are 200mm and have the same number of splines... there must be a reason why there is 2 different kits listed :/ im after a stage 2 aswel for those wandering
-
#8Stage 2?
I'm guessing you mean an Uprated clutch.. many don't really bother unless they've got 200bhp or more. A standard Valeo clutch is good for 170+bhp I believe, and thats what most use. -
#9My local motorfactors priced me £130 for a full LUK clutch kit.
think im guna find a valeo online tho, save a few quid.
i agree with ed, unless your going down the forced induction route then a standard clutch will be fine

#13back at you rick

#14Yea its an uprated one... i didnt want to be chewin through them quicker than i can replace one. i thought a stage 2 would be suitable (fast road and track use) due to the mods on the car it may last longer than a standard replacement one. my cars been cammed and remmaped with a 4branch manifold and decat pipe. any ideas what i should be going for then or even links to a kit i can buy? I have been going by the drivetorque kits from larkspeed.com

#15Talk to Mandyslover (above) He'll sort you out with a Valeo one.
Trust me, its more than adaquate for your set up and will probably outlast your ownership of the car.
Although, kamracing and Atspeed sell something you may be after.
OMP and Helix Clutches.

#16Valeo would be my choice. Will be fine for fast road/ track use imo.
