vtr gearbox

   is pants, wanna put something with shorter ratio'd gears in. would a 1.1 box be able to cope? i have a ax with a 1.4 gt engine and box, would the box fit straight onto my mk2 saxo? as the gt box is a better box...

   i have an ax gti box that needs a refurb. when it was on my mates 106 it was awsome. i'm sure it topped out around 130mph and had great acceleration. 1.1 box will cope aswell. also great acceleration but top end of only 115mph

   ive got a gt box already as ive got a ax sat in the garden witha 1.4gt engine conversion, but not using it at the moment.. was thinking about giving it ago

   imo yes there was a noticable difference. when my mate went back to standard gti box it definately felt slower

   cheers, i dont wanna go through the trouble of changing gearbox's for a little gain..

   Some early gt boxes used a different bell housing to suit the split block tu engine that ran a single carb
   
   So if its tbat engine in your ax that box wont fit

    mines off a mk2 gt, will probs just shop round for a 1.1 box..
