Just wondering if there is any common issues with 1.4's idling when 1st started it doesnt idle inless you rev it a few times then its ok.
Have cleaned out the T.B but made no difference.

Did you clean the ICV also?
Cleaning the TB will help if it's dirty but the ICV is what you need to clean.

Could also be earth related mate, just make sure the battery earth to chassis is clean and the gbox earth is also clean
Clean those up then clean the ICV with some carb cleaner. Not sure wher it's located on the 1.4 but the on my vtr it was behind the inlet manifold.

Could be excessive play in your throttle cable,seen this many times.......

Very common to get mucky and need cleaning.

there are two sensors screwed on back of intake which one is the ICV?
its going to be that its quite frustrating now.

icv is a cylinder shape with a 4 pin plug, it should be nearest the throttle body

cleaned this and the earth seemed fine for few days now doing same again,think i need to replace the ICV?

mine did this, cleaned the icv, sorted it, now idles around 700-800rpm

but how long has it lasred as mine has started again,going to remove it and clean again just incase its just got shitty again.

so cleaned it again got about 4days and played up again,werent dirty this time tbf.
I have priced one up at euro car parts they said there as x2 listed one ith emission control and one without.The with was cheaper anyone know how i can tell if it has it or not?
