cylinder head liners...?

    Hey.
I have been having trouble with my little car... I recently with help from a friend changed the head gasket, the valves and the timimg belt among other things..
The car seemed ok for a while it seemed to rev a bit by itself but no bad problems..
Anyway after a while the car seemed to sometimes misfire. The chap that helped me was no longer around so i thought i would take it a dealer garage.
They told me they suspected the cylinder liners had moved when we done the head gasket and the car was a right off..
But the thing is 3 people have told me since that my car does not have a cylinder liners and no I am kinda of confused. I am not a mechanic and I have very limited choice of where to take the car as I live on an island..

    Any advice please..

Depends on what engine you have mate aluminium blocks have liners cast blocks don't. Either way 8v engines are cheap as chips if you need one. Misfire could be a number of things that were caused when removing the head. I would check all plugs are clean and clear and you have spark to all cylinders.

+1 to this if its a 1.1/1.4 it'll be all alloy so will have liners vtr cast block so won't have liners, pretty obvious witch one you have just by looking at the cylinder block.

Did you skim the head when the gasket was done?
