while driving my gauges will die all drop down to nothing then pick back up and work fine, its as if it resets itself. they also sometimes freeze.
Important! : dash keeps dying!

petrol, temp, revs, speedo? and the mileage section?
If this goes on and off eg freeze when at 60mph then two mins later come on and drops the dials down and starts back up like normal?
its a a lose connection in the back of the clock(if mk2) You will have two plugs into clocks( yellow and black) remove carefully and pull and out and see. or wiggle around to see if its goes over and see if you can wedge it into place.
or the clocks making contact with wiring(if this is the case you wont be able to get the connection from clocks as mine used to do it)
