Where is the ICV??

Really silly question I know! Im more used to a mk3 gold which is alot easier to work with!

Just need to know where the idle control valve is on a mk1 VTS.

The car isn't idling at all and throttle response is slow. Plus it revs as and when it wants to.

Any other alternatives to the problem?

Naaa that sounds like the ICV.

Look for the '16v' box behind the engine. To the right of the box is the throttlebody. The TPS is closest to you and the ICV is further away (the otherside of the TB).
Three bolts to remove the TB, two bolts for the ICV.

you shouldnt need to take the throttle body off, the 2x bolts that hold the icv are t20's and the 3x bolts that hold the throttle body are t30's (if you need to take the tb off)

give it a spray with carb cleaner or wd40.. other things that could be the issue

    coolant temp sensor
    map sensor
    lambda sensor
    coil pack
    air leak
    TPS thorttle position sensor

think that is about it, i may be wrong tho... i had loads of troublewith mine, i still am to be fair, it idles ok, only now when i put the car under pressure i.e from having the fans going, window wipers going, lights etc, the revs drop very low when i let off the clutch... its not a major issue so i can live with it untill i do the re-build in the new year and turbo it :-)
