Car making a clunking/pinging sound rear

   Hi,
   
   My Saxo VTR is making a clunking/pinging sound from the rear of my car when driving, can be heard louder when driving over speed bumps. I have checked my mangex system and there is no evidence of it being loose anywhere. I don't know if has something to do with the rear torsion bar?
   
   Any ideas because it's really getting annoying now.

   i've heard the arb end plates can make pinging noises I think its if they come loose?

   Check the rear arb end plate 13mm bolt

   yep the end plates lose their bolt. If its pinged out it may have stripped the threads as these bolts are tight, you'll have to re-tap and then use the correct spec bolt in the right size. In the picture its on the end of the beam, the thing with the hole in the end and thus missing bolt:

   mine was doing this, went in for MOT they sed its the rear bushes so i need new axel now -.-

   If the arms have some play, then you'll probably find the bolts come loose quite often.
