dont just bolt a filter straight to the inlet, will just suck hot air from the engine in, will loose power like that.

and should just unbolt the 3 nuts and attatch on, weight of the car will keep it in place.

I would save the money from the strut brace and get the piping to move the the filter, better way to spend the money.

I had a strut brace fitted on mine and the top one made no difference that I could feel

A strut brace should fit fine.

Usually top strut braces are just engine bling,it`s the bottom strut brace that improves the handling of the car mate.

Dont even get a cone filter. just replace the standard one with a green cotton. Mate you'll only harm power by puttin a cone by your hot engine.

I just put a green cotton one on in my standard air box. At the most, change the ducting but what you were planning on doing aint brilliant. Lots of noise and a possible reduction in power.

Ah i always thought i can feel more of a power gain from the cone filter, however i will consider getting a green one, but whats the different from a green one and a normal one,? and what about the mushroom looking air filter?

    thanks ,

The green cotton is just a re usable performance filter you can get them shaped as a flat panel to suit a standard air box. if you feel your happy with the cone then carry on mate. Im just saying in general heat soak isnt desirable.

The performance filters offer better less restricted air flow.
