Rattling sound

  1. #1
My car seems to rattle from underneath when setting of slowish, if the revs are higher though it doesn't happen.

Does something just need tightening up? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

get someone to rev it a bit and have a look and listen under the car at same time. could be a heat shield or something simple.

open your windows and stick your head out the window when its doing it. you might get a better idea which side its coming from. could be anything really is it coming from around the wheels? does it do it when stood still reving it?

Tingy noise? My centre pipe was tapping the rear beam.. So check there

It's not really a pinging noise mate but I'll sill double check

And this noise doesn't happen when the car is stood still just when I'm setting off using really low revs of just the clutch, but if I set off with higher revs the noise doesn't happen

could be the exhaust flange mate from downpipe to centre section, It can get really creaky/ rattly. Mine did it and i was like " wtf, is that noise ".... Turns out it just needed separating, wire brushin to remove rust, copper greased and re joined. Been fine ever since.

will be exhaust rattling of the car, where down pipe meets cat, mine does it but get used to it and cba changing it tbh

proberly your exhaust, as your car idles it slightly shakes and if your systems loose then it will travel down then pipe and shake on the loose joint which could be the noise you hear mate

Cheers lads ... So basically it's either the heat shield or a lose exhaust somewhere? So when I go under the car what parts exactly am I looking for to tighten up?
