Overheating :(

   Yesterday night while rushing around to try and get a card for the mother at 10pm ( yes i left it late lol ) i noticed the temp guage was around 3quater's up thought it was strange as never seen it above half before, but carried on driving droped my gf off home left the car running while i said the usuall cya tomoz and what not and then the red temp light came on. So car straight off bonnet up and noticed this pipe was semi together.
   
   
   
   Connected back together and still had high temp around 75-80% so drove to chippy had something to eat so car was off for about 20min's tunred car on and it rose to about 70% pritty quick what problem could this be ?

   Check your coolant level, also check for leaks that's the main thing.
   
   won't be nothing to do with the air intake hose, currently driving with half mine missing and its ok.

   as said, check for leaks, water patches on floor, check coolant level.
   also check to see if your fan comes on too

   As said, check your coolant levels and for leaks on/underneath the car. Your fan should kick in when the temp guage gets to about 60% or rises just above half, so check the fan relay and the plugs etc to make sure it's actually active.

   Thank's guy's fan kick's in as it should at about 55-60%. All level's are fine on the car, and i dont think there is any leak's ile see how it goes next time i drive it

   check the green plug on thermostat housing it self sometimes they play up. mine said it was over heating with red light . when i check everything it was warm but not anything bad . so change the plug and it been fine. have you got thermostat in it ?
