My VTR 2012 plans

  1. #1
Well i have decided to keep my VTR . I was thinking of selling because of a lack of power. But she's got a NEW MOT and 12 months Tax . so I'll keep her for now .
Back to power . I was thinking of bike carbs and a piper cam kit . I don't know much about carbs . And how much power they might give?

Also will using carbs means the ecu ( engine mangerment is not needed ) ?

One more Q's what cost am i looking at ?

    cheers

    It'll cost a bit
You'll need something to create a spark using the carbs, megajolt is one option or I think you can find a dizzy set up from an early 106 and something to lower the pressure of the fuel to the carbs. Not sure if the cam has to be modified for the dizzy drive however. Plus you'll need a fancy manifold for the carbs, you can get these from Sandy Brown I think. For all this it'd be easier to 16v the car, but if you stick 8v I recommend fitting a rallye/xsi head with its J cam. Can be had cheaply and offer good gains with a rallye inlet fitted too if you wish

It not that hard to get a dizzy on an 8v

Blacktop heads can easily be converted using bits off early 106 and the small tu motored 205s

Ive still got half the stuff off my 205xs kicking about and an s1 rallye head i might even have a few engine bay pics of the car as that was carburetted ive had a couple now and its a pretty simlpe setup tbh
