#2why would you want it to overheat?

#3He doesnt want it to overheat. He's saying it doesnt overheat so there doesnt seem to be a problem with the cooling system itself, but wants to know why the gauge still sits at 3/4 . To the op, ive known a few people with vtr's that have this problem, they tried changing a few sensors etc and it never really seemed to solve anything, if it runs okay and you've had everything checked most people tend to leave it. If it is actually running slightly hot and not just a faulty gauge, maybe try a vts rad on it? few people fit it as an upgrade anyway on vtr's

Mine did this when i first got the car, gave it the full service, cleaned all sensors, cleaned everything basically, and since then sits at half way. No idea what i did though
Sorry about my oh so helpful advice

#5Don't forget oil, as important it is for lubrication, its also for cooling.
Then there is the braking system.
Make sure none of the brakes are binding, and make sure tyre pressures are all okay.
Low or poor quality oil, a sticking brake combined with low tyre pressures will make an engine have to work harder and increase running temps.
Also spark plugs, poor condition can make an engine run hotter.
