Overheating light always on

    hi
sorry if this was posted before, but i could not find a solution to my problem....
I've recently changed coolant in my 1.1 saxo and after a short trip overheat light came on. I've re-bled the system but the light don't go away. It comes on as soon as you start the engine and fan kicks in few moments later. I'm pretty sure it's bled properly (all 3 bleeding points, got hot air in heater). I've checked coolant temperature sensor, it shows correct resistance on cold (didn't checked it on hot yet), reseted ECU (disconected battery overnight) and i'm running out of ideas... thermostat buggered? any help/ideas would be appreciated

change the stat and re-bleed the system.

Also as you turn you car on, do you hear the sound of bubbles?

Also, if it's showing hot and the fan kicks in while the engine is cold the sensor sounds fucked. Resistance doesn't always show a fault.

i got this also ever since i tried to see if i were getting power down at the fan relay and i accidently pressed the power button of my power probe

have you checked the resistance of the 2nd sensor iirc that one if for the gague.

all i've done atm is take the relay out. going to change the 2nd sensor if that don't work just going to wire in a fan switch+ external gague to check the temp.

but you could test the 'stat mate. simple thing to do.

i don't know if i got other sensor, since there is no gauge, only overheat light... and how can i check thermostat without replacing it?

for the sake of a tenner, might as well replace it.

Also, the 2 sensors are only like 20quid.
