Hi all, driving around yesterday and smoke started coming out from the steering couling, now the power steering and heater have stopped working, is this going to be the ignition barrel at fault? Or is it likely that a wire has burnt out? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

#3It's your ignition barrel mate by the sounds of it, have a look around the scrappies for one or you could try by passing the connector with a resistor. Theirs a guide how to on here, I'll post it now for you!

#5Yeah, I've researched that, just want to make sure that's all it'll be before bypassing itQuote:It's your ignition barrel mate by the sounds of it, have a look around the scrappies for one or you could try by passing the connector with a resistor. #9It just started smoking when I stopped at lights, at first I thought it might be the indicator stalk as I've had that before, but that was workinh then when I pulled off the power steering wasn't working then I realised the heater wasn't blowing anymore

#12All sorted now
was the ignition barrel, the brown wires under the couling had been re-connected at some point and one had burnt through. Connecting it back didn't work so ive joined the brown wires together and all is well now
