Quiky lump, Vtr head , help :(

  1. #1
Right long time since I've been on here but 106 oc have fobbed me off!
I put a Vtr head and inlet on my quiky lump , I loved it but now the quiky is rotting I need to put the engine into my newly purchased westcoast (£400 don't judge )
My question is will this engine run on the westcoast loom? And would it be best to run Vtr management as it's rather lumpy when running, also i want to run vtr injectors instead of the piss poor quiky ones
my next thing is I have a Clifford alarm would this affect ecu swapping? also would the Vtr ecu need to be unlocked to be used in the westy?
I do have a strong knowledge on mechanics but I'd rather get another opinion on this before I go buying and trying, don't say what's the point as I have all the bits on my quiky and the engine has had a fresh rebuild so it would be a shame to scrap it,
As always any segment of help is always appreciated

i wouldnt run a bastard engine like that unless it was worth it - which in your case I dont think it is, Id just use a whole vtr engine.

also, the clifford wont affect the engine.

You would need the ECU unlocked to use it in your car

The westcoast loom *should* fit on the engine, if it doesnt you can usually swap over what sensors you need to match the plugs.

The only reason I'm using it is that the westys head gasket is shagged and it's done over 120 thousand miles and my quiky has done 70 thou and all I'd need is the ecu from a Vtr£5 so I'm doing it for cost I'm not keeping the sax as I dont like it! plus it takes bout 3 hours to swap the engines over! And for what it is the quiky was nippy,

Why do you want to run VTR injectors on a 1.4 when you are only changing the head?

Sounds like its going to overfuel like a bugger with VTR injectors and VTR ecu on a 1400 but let us know how you get on

It did over fuel with the Vtr injectors on the quilt management and now it can't get enough fuel in, I just wana try it to seenif the management helps a little bit, I've got the ecu I'll just have to wait till Tuesday to swap the engines over if not engines swapped back lol
