Exhaust/bumper Queries

  1. #1
Well firstly i wasnt sure on section but as i was gonna ask bout exhausts anyway, ill do it now.

I have a £500 budget for ull exhaust sytem.

Can i get a full decat twin exit system and a 4-1 manifold for this money???

I aint after Silly 5" Slash end cans lol.

I want a nice sounding exhaust (loud is good though) with two 2.5" round end cans (maybe 3")(or my preffered, read on-)

Who makes the best performance exhausts? Duplex?? Magnex???

    My ideal exhaust-

WOuld be a twin CENTER exit exhaust with two small 1.5" exits, i.e- mini cooper, Lupo Gti.

But my bumper has a cut out, so i was thinking-

Give bumper to bodyshop, get them to cut of the metal circle tht comes through, fill that hole, completely smooth off the bottom of the bumper, fill the original cut out so it is all smooth with no cut outs. Then make 2 small centre cut outs for my new exhaust.

How much, and is this even possible???

    thanks guys.

of course its possible.. i should think.
how much . . i dunno. give a few bodyshops a call. your exhaust sounds like a custom job tho. powerflow, exhausts uk etc.

I think your bumper will cost minimum of £150 on it's own as an extra cost. Could get a raceland manifold off ebay which are very good for £159 inc pnp and that would leave you a fair bit to play around with exhausts.

do magnex do a twin backbox

i know piper and duplex do i have a piper 1 on mine but not a twin its very nice sounding

i dont think you will get a full system and manifold and body mods for 500 though
  5. #5
yeh exhaust obvo custom job. Reckon it'd look good though?

Or would i be better going for a ready made Twin exit pipe with one each side, so that all i need to do is cut another bit on other side????

Also is a Fully Decat system Pipe and a 4-1 manifold, both of high quality, possible for £500??
  6. #6
no mate, £500 is purely exhaust.

I was expecting bumper to be fully done for about £100 ish???

Also do you think it'd look smart??

Or am i better going for twin 3or4" at either side???

OR, get a rear bumper ad don bit, one at each side, and mesh the rest???
  7. #7
still 500 might not be enough mines worth 600 but thats full stainless steel inc manifold
  8. #8
I personally would not get two exhausts that small. I think it would look rather silly but that is my personal opinion. At the end of the day it is your car mate and different people like different things. I think it will be more than £100 but obviously different body shops charge different prices. I would go for a nice single that's what I have, but go for a double if you want one.

lol, an extra 100 aint a problem lol.

    Just 500 as a baseline.

Ohh and as for engine, im gonna do full exhaust, induction kit and an ECU remap.

Will i be adding about 10-15hp, or is tht a bit optimistic?
  10. #10
not much point with re map for them mods you only realy need remaps when fitting cams/turbo/supercharger

that any good, Will it be PERFECT fit??

Or would it need smoothing etc..

Or is it case of painting/meshing it and end of story??

cos that would save a lot of hassle.
  12. #12
dunno about perfect fit i know most kits arnt thats why you should keep it standard

lord no....... hate bumpers which require tacky mesh ...... stay well clear.

Yeh my object is to keep it looking standard and subtle- e.g- not typical chav saxo.

But theres somethin bout twin exhausts, i love em lol

Think ill do easiest option and go for a twin exit, one either side.
  15. #15
dimma is the only bodykit what looks good on a saxo
  16. #16
    NO BODYKITS look good.

why did i even look at that fucking bumper lol.

For me, all silver, colour coded, smoother boot, delocked, debadged, degrilled at front, silver mesh at front(bit chavvy but looks good) and black wheels is the way to go.

I agree with everything you've just said there! With regards to your choice of exhaust I have a feeling it will look a little out of place. The rear bumpers on saxos are a fair bit "shorter" than say the bumper of a cooper or a lupo gti and so with the exhaust sitting as it would on one of those cars it may look a little out of place on a saxo.

If you're looking for something different like that then the bumper work you talked about would probably help to pull off the look you're trying to acheive.

You cant beat a single box magnex system in my eyes but it's not exactly loud, even with a decat and 4 branch.

Basically after all this waffle all I have to say is go for it lol

klass mate, someone with same ideas

I think ill go 3" round end can at each side, for easyness and itll still look good but not chavvy.

    Like this-

  20. #20

  21. #21
That's Saints VTR, pretty stunning! I think you should def give that a go, it looks the dogs jewls
  22. #22

    WIll be mint.

    Then exhaust/induction will be done.

Big money! You should do a progress thread mate with pics from the very start when you got your car! Most people will be interested to hear how it's going.

Alright mate, Bought all ICE components of a mate tongiht, brand new kit, really good prices.

Pioneer 9600 Head unit- RRP- £700 (goes for £400 everywhere though), paid £230
    Jackson 750w Amp- RRP- £190, paid £50
12" Sub with full build, mirrored back, Circular blue neon round sub which plays to music, plexy glass bits. REALLY nice, not sure on make of sub, ill open up tommorrow, but build looks the biz. RRP- AT LEAST £200, Paid £50

Full Wiring Loom for eveyrthing- Free

So for £330 i have full install worth over a grand, i dont even ask where it came from, but everything is 100% new and boxed lol.

But when fitting we blew a fuse, so going to get it replaced tommorrow.

Also need to screw amp and build into boot etc..

But ill have pics by tommorrow afternoon.

I realise Jackson iant amazing etc.. and the sub aint amazing, but its a full install which will do me just dandy until EVERYTHING else is done, then i can upgrade to a fiberglass build with excellent subs and better amp etc.. BUT in the meantime its excellent.
