Just tried to fit my hawk kit...

Hi guys, just followed a guide on here about fitting a remote upgrade kit, well i slaved all that time with the awkward space, and it doesn't work, the box has power because it 'clicks' when you click the unlock/lock, and it did unlock a few times, the LED also works, but the box doesn't seem to be operating the motors, its connected to the central locking connector and everything as the guide said, cant work it out :/

    Any help appreciated, thanks
    Ben

Also, just to mention that the guide said I had to crimp a white wire to number 7 wire on the connector, but there were two white wires :/ so connected the one that is just a central locking cable, the other that I didn't hook to anything is ignition 12v, but the unit already has power so why would it need it? :/ I don't get it at all

have you got their car specific wiring diagram or just going off their multi car diagram? if u have the car specific one u shouldnt have an issue
  4. #4
No I used a guide on here, I've asked them 3 times for a diagram for my car, they have neither sent me one nor replied to any of my emails, which is annoying, anyone who fitted the kit got any suggestions?

I had one fitted to my saxo for 3 weeks before I ripped it out. Awful customer service and the amount of times it locked me in/ out of my car was unreal.

I'd honestly recommend you go for TOAD or clifford.

Well I've bought this one now and honestly just want it to operate the door motors lol, how did you wire it up, as there's 2 white wires

    Surely that must be connected?

Yeah, but there is a dedicated power cable, I was only told to connect 'The whit cable' to number 7 on the socket, but with there being two I had to choose, I heard someone said that I had to crimp them both to number 7, so can i just add another snap lock with the other white wire to number 7?

I understand that the ignition 12v must be connected to something, but the system seems to be powered without it, just not locking and unlocking.

Oh and just rang hawk but 'nobody was available' so they took my number and would ring back, still nothing lol

    Thanks
    Ben

They did ring me back in the end, they sent me a technical sheet specifying where the wires should go, although its still unclear as there is no actual diagram on the sheet, just descriptions of where the wires ought to go

Just been out in curiosity, the car will unlock with the remote if you lock the car with the key, then press lock on the remote, and then press unlock, that works, its just, you cant lock it up again, so must be a problem with the lock pulse signal, on wire number 7 at the connector, so gonna check in the morning

Any tips on how to completely remove the glovebox from the car? As I was unable to earlier and it made things very awkward indeed!

    Thanks, Ben

They've sent me instructions for alarm not central locking so I'll be following this thread like a dog without a home.

Ive got it working mate, my wiring connectors hadn't pierced the wire sheathing, heres a basic guide for you:

    Red - Number 1
    Black - Earth bolt
    Yellow - Earth bolt
    Yellow/Black - Earth bolt
White (NOT IGNITION WHITE) - Number 7
    White/Black - Number 5

I mounted the LED in one of the switch blanks on the centre console, which you can just drill through, then I hid all the wiring under the glovebox and stuck the HAWK box to the back of the glovebox, has a good range actually, im impressed after the time it took lol!

Hope this helps, if you need any more help, pm me

    Thanks
    Ben

  23. #23
Removing the centre console takes a couple of minutes mate.

Ah right, just read its only 5 screws, does my stereo need to come out first or can I just remove the whole thing lol
