Another car wont start problem.

I have a 2000 VTR and it has been parked up for a few weeks. Before this the car ran absolutly perfect without any problems. Tried to start it yesterday and it tried to turn over but was very slow and squeeled. I thought it was the battery so i charged it over night and tried it again today, still the same so i tried jumping it and is the same again, so i know the battery is fine.

By having a very quick look at it it seems like the alternator is seized, does this happen often and would this stop the car from starting? Seems like because it is seized the belt wont spin at all and therefore doesnt spin the crank.

Does this seem logical? If so, what's the next step? Will it be a case of covering it with wd40 or is it more than likely a buggered alternator.

    Cheers

Car started straight away without the belt on. I quickly took the alternator out and it is solid. Will be a quick, cheap fix
