head gasket

i was told a few months ago by my local garage that my head gasket was in its way out, something about the oil mixing with the water. iv noticed this week that im losing oil and water very fast and my exhaust is blowing white smoke. im guessing thats a sign that head gasket is about to go. iv priced the kit on ebay for £45 but do i also need to get a new timing belt and water pump?

iv just found a water pump for £25 and a timing belt for £11 on aep direct. does this sound a bit too good to be true? its says their all genuine parts with a 12month guarantee.

Seems ok mate but personally id go for a bit more as in brands etc? But if its got 12 G i dont see why not.

Id rather pay a little bit more for more reputable parts rather than saving £15 and then having a snapped belt a few weeks later and a mashed up head.

Head gasket is already gone by the sounds of it, white smoke means its burning antifreeze.....i.e the gasket has broken and is allowing antifreeze into the cylinders which is then being burnt with the air/fuel mixture.

Get a decent water pump. The old one will be a bugger to get out but its well worth changing it. Do you have a torque wrench that'll do 20nm and a degree gauge if you are doing the job yourself by the way?

it only seems to blow white smoke when its ticking over and i cant see any of that white stuff in the oil. iv just put a decat pipe on it aswell so would that cause the smoke because its burning fuel faster?

Get a Gates timing belt kit they`re pretty good quality.

Mine does this when cold as its decatted but it doesn't lose any water, you said yours is using a lot of it?

Get a compression test done, should give you an indication of whether the HG has cracked
