brake lights

Mum pointed out my brake lights werent working, only the third one. So i changed the bulbs over and now these are a lot brighter, i held the bulb while someone pressed the pedal and the second filament lights up but barely. The filament for the rear light lights up extra bright, so now it looks like my brake lights are on constantly?

You put your bulbs in the wrong way round.

Cant rememebr now, something really simple though.

When you put your brakes on do the lights go out?

They dont now, they did but i moved the bulb around and it went back to original problem, so im guessing it WAS the wrong way but then i went back to original problem

Its usually when you have put the bulb in the wrong way round.

If you are 100% sure its not in the wrong wy round then check the earths up behind the C pillar plastics.

Also, any idea why both bulbs would have gone at the same time on just the brake light filament?

Might have just been an odd one. Power surge etc check fuses, bare wires, water/dampness etc

Fuses etc all seem fine, no water in the lights. Ah well fuck it, it's fine for now..
