   just after a bit of unfo,i am in the process of doing the head gasket on my lads saxo 1.1 alloy block and head,do i need to replace the head bolts?the haynes manual says only if any have stretched...can anybody advise me as the place who i am getting the head skimmed say these engines are ok with the old bolts?

   your getting the head skimmed so i would play safe and get new bolts

   Bolts don't cost much and because you'll be doing all of that you may aswell spend a few extra quid to get it right!

   Its well worth getting new bolts.

   i always change them even if they are not strech bolts just to be on the safe side. particually as i'm doing them for work aswell. covers my arse
