Brake calipers

    right so was thinking about spraying my brake calipers red, but wasnt to sure how to take them off? as im not a premium member i couldnt view the how-to guides so was wondering whether anyone had any info about if its hard to take them off or would it be easier to spray it with them on?

    Buy brembo ones they are red standard

    You can do it with the calipers still on the car but you need to mask up everything.

    if you remove the caliper you will have to replace the brake fluid and bleed the system.

    just get a paint brush and give it a lick of the old hammerite

    it does sound much easier brushing it on and then i wont have to mask up everything except the disk! any ideas on what red paint or if you got any ideas on colours for a blue saxo?

    Silver or black IMO, Hammerite smooth paint.

    Just make sure you get high tempreture paint as the brakes get very hot.

    is the vht paint any good and do they do the paint in a can istead of spray or is it too overpriced for what it is?

    You don't need high temp paint for callipers.

    You can if you want, but it's really not needed. Just clean them with a wire brush or similar, take the pads out or mask them up and paint with smooth Hammerite and a brush. I painted mine silver 18 months ago this way and they are fine to this day.

    Yeah I will second the fact that smooth hammerite is absolutely fine to use

    can you get different colours in smooth hamerite guys?

    want a colour that will go really well with posi blue saxo

    go for canary yellow seen guy last week had his done looked wicked on his blue vtr

    halfords do hammerite paint for around £10
