Headgasket aftermath!!

   Hello guy bit of help needed!!
   
   My headgasket went last week but rather than it overheating and the usual symptoms my oil decided to mix in with my water and made a lovely mess! I stripped it the other day took my head off and found it full of lovely brown gunk with some nice crispy oil deposit that had built up, cleaned it out the best I can but im sure you guys know how hard this is! Anyway it's all back together now and running fine but I'm still getting cr*p in my water obv from stuff I haven't cleaned out! Does anyone know what I can use or run through the cooling system to break it all down an I can flush it out as just running water through it is doing nothing!

   washing up liquid, may have to do it a couple of times though

   When I worked for Mercedes there was some genuine merc stuff we used to clean cooling systems out after oil / water mix. It was like granuals that you mixed with plain water, filled the cooling system and bled through, then run it up nice and hot, give it a good run then drain it out and refill with proper coolant.
   I don't remember the part number but it was real good stuff. I think there is some acid content in it, it was safe for all cooling system components iron / ally / rubber seals etc.

   Cheers guys! I know this sounds stupid but I was thinking of trying cillit bang lol was going to put a bottle or 2 in mixed with some water let it run warm then drain it all and keep flushing through with clean water to remove any left in there

   take 2 hoses off and put a hose pipe in one and leave it running for ages till the water coming out is clear of rubbish. then put hoses back on and use some radiator flush and just plain water and flush it out again then put nice new coolant in worked for me

   My mate had this problem with his capri :-D he used costic soda not sure on spelling but that stuff is great for this job .

   i used paraffin to wash out all engine parts inside all the bores put it back to gather again put cheap engine oil in got it up to temp dropped oil again and put hi-grade oil in
