Back end wobble

  1. #1
I have recently noticed that my vtr has a slight problem when going round right hand bends.

I have lowered the front on extremely stiff suspension, however the back isn't lowered and on the standard shockers (i havent got round to fitting the stiff ones yet). I have a slow puncture on the rear right tyre but that cannot explain the problem of losing the back end on right hand bends. I was going round a bend tonight at 25mph which i normally take at 40 and the back end overtook the front, it happened 2 weeks ago and 3 weeks ago (all on different bends) i was wondering if anyone knew why i only lost the back end when going round right hand bends. I have checked and there is no leaks from the back end, everything is tight and i have no clue!

Did you lift off the accelerator pedal?

Yep, about 20 yards before the corner (it is a fast flowing corner) like i said i normally take it at 40, but i wasnt in a hurry tonight so i was just crusing and i was 3/4 of the way round the corner and lightly touched it again and the back end just went

    Lift off oversteer.

Will also make things worse the back being really high, Just don't let go off the throttle around bends.

But could always jack the rear up, and try to wobble the wheels to see if there's any play in bearings, check damper's too.

    Good luck

But why would the lift off only many me lose it on right hand bends not left too? :/ i have new dampers and they are going on asap to see what happens. Thanks i need a new bearing on the front and one on the vts rear axle! fed up of the bloody things!

This is just a pure guess but maybe 1 shock on the rear has more wear than the other,so its putting everything out of kilter.(if this makes sense lol)

Ye i understand what you mean Well like i said i have some stiff shockers in the shed, never got round to fitting them when i put the coily's on, so will get on with it and see!
