Hi new to the forum after recently buying a saxo 1.1 eastcoast
The car is a V reg (99) done 48,000miles
Had the car a few weeks and its been fine only problem was when the engine got warm,the gears seemed a bit stiffer to get into and was making a noice as though it needed some lubrication, got my machanic to have a look and there was no gearbox oil in, so hes done that but hasnt made a difference..
The weekend i decided to take the mrs to see family in blackpool,on the way there first 25mile on seemed fine, was cruising at 65/70mph then when i eased off the accelerator i got a whyning/whistling noice that would last for about 5seconds and seemed to go when i put my foot back on the accelerator.... I got into blackpool spent the day there then started back, again it was fine first 25 mile but after that got the noice again but this time it was more constant and was happening when i had my foot down also..
Decided to pull over and phone AA to tow me back because i dont know what damage i may be doing driving it..
Anyway machanic came last night to have a look he said only way to really find out is for him to hear the noice so we went for a spin for an hour and no noice! Frustating i know!
been to work today 5mile there 5mile back and footy training tonite still no noice....
Any ideas what it could have been?
