Blowing exhaust, fail MOT?

   my backbox is blowing and i know that people say it can fail its MOT due to emissions, but i got a new cat on the 3rd of this month, will it be an advisory or will i need a new backbox? my mot is tomorrow

   can be an advisory, not all exhasut blows fail mots, im sure my back box was blowing and it passed

   Difficult to say without seeing the blow, will have to wait until the MOT.
   
   Luckily backboxes are cheap and can be changed by a monkey with a spanner.

   yeh i know so thats a plus, was in a scrappy today and seen an old moded vtr with 5 backboxes in them, looked brand new so if it fails it shouldnt be a disaster, i hope

   and yet kwik fit seem to have trouble with it
   
   if its only slight then it should be ok but if its due to the backbox having a hole in it then it will fail.

   mine failed on a blowing backbox
   but the downpipe was blowing too :/ so they could have just said both if it was the one!
   if its blowing too much they cant do the emissions test - i think

   well its the same guy whos replaced my, clutch, driveshafts, engine mounts, ball joints, and was actually upset that i never went to him to get my cat replaced by him lol, so im thinking that he may have told me before hand if he thought so, but ah well, i shall find out soon enough
