Lots of annoying niggles

    Heya guys! My vtr has a few problems,was wanderin if u fine petrolheads can help! Firstly I just had the cat and middlebox replacd and now The backbox knocks against the rear left of the car,i think theyve droppd the exaughst by a bit and to make it fit theyve added a rubber thing on the u fixing for the backbox,any ideas to help?
    One of the belts,its comin frm near the frnt right wheel,is skweeking on low revs n wen its cold!and theres an unconfirmd rumbling underndith accordin 2 my missus bt iv not had chance 2 check yet!any ideas would help?

    Backbox, simply loosen the bolts where it joins the centre pipe.. and Twist/play about untill happy with how it's sat..

    Squeaking will most likely going to be alternator belt.. Easy to tighten though.

    Yeah I thought itd b the altinator belt,too small 2 b the fanbelt n I knw the timing belt doesnt skweek! Ill hav a play with the backbox,tbh im temptd 2 replace it anyway for something only slightly louder! Not had chance 2 confirm the other rumble,ill try it wen I get bak frm wrk

    These don't have fan belts, so it's either the cambelt or the alt belt! Ovs the alt belt

    Ok so ive hammered my backbox n sortd that,iv changd the pads so it actually stops nw,had the altinator belt replaced bt theres still a skweaking coming frm near the front right tyre,any suggestions?

    if the tyres squeak, drive slower

    Could be the alternator pulley

    Rumbling could be wheel bearing, does it sqweak when its sat idling or when driving

    Its not the tyres.it squeaks while idling and thru first n a bit of 2nd,its reli odd,im not 2 worried bt it is annoying!

    The pulley on the alternator can squeak.

    Unplug the alternator and see if it does it then.

    The car will be ok for a few minutes without the alternator charging the battery

    The engine's still going to turn the pulley and belt though.. So Would have to take the belt off.

    Just check the tension, and tighten/loosen.

    Just check the alternator lower pulley, three bolts and its off, see if the rubber in the centre is loose, if so its replacement time.

    Cheers guys,ill bust out the haynes manul n spanners wen I get chance,how hard is it 2 get at?
