  1. #1
Hi guys, trying to fit a gear knob to my saxo but its nothing like the instructions supplied, saxos seem to be different, any tips? And do I need to buy a new gear gaitor to fit it?

    Thanks

does it come with the spacer things ? if not ull have to do it the pikey way like me i wrapped cellotape arround the metal bit to build its size up , forced the actual knob bit on then tightned the grub screws and never had a problem with it.

Yeah it has the spacer thing will just need to stick it in, its the gaitor that's the problem, it fits around the standard gearstick but not this one

Okay, so I went out to take some pics of the problem I'm having (Sorry if they aren't too good, took them on my phone)

The gear knob that I have bought and would like to fit

This is whats left after removing the standard gear knob, perfectly fits one of the plastic adapter things until it reaches the plastic lugs on the side, if you can see them, where the white bit gets wider

This is as far down as the gear knob will go, as it gets trapped on the bits of plastic

This is the standard gear knob with the gaitor, but the bit that the gaitor attaches too isnt present on the new gear knob, so what would be the best way of attaching it?

So yeah, with the white plastic bit, do you reckon i could cut the lugs off with a sharp knife? Or are there any other ways, as im using the biggest adapter and the gear knob alone, without the adapter, wont fit over the lugs either

    Any help gratefully accepted

    Thanks

    file the white lugs off
the gaitor should be slightly elasticated to fit over the bottom of your knob.

    had to say it

    hope that helps
