like there's single plug ecus, and three plugs, what does this mean? and what do 3 plugs do better than one?
  2. #2
single plug is the phase one and start of the phase 2 (the first 6 months or so iirc)
3 plug is the rest of phase 2s. the mpg is a little better.
on vtrs its 8 more bhp too. not sure about the other engines (1.4, vts etc)
  3. #3
mines is single plug, i think
  4. #4
Single or three plug literally refers to the amount of connector plugs it has going into it

compare those vtrs mate and youl see. mk1 is one plug and mk2 3plug. click the performance & economy tab. this is for the vtr so not sure if the effect is same for other engines

    Pretty self explaining really.

Single plug ECUs was the first design..

3-plug's was the second slightly improved design..
