8j alloys

  1. #1
Got some 8j alloys for my sax today my friend reckons I will have problems fitting them, anyone any idea if they are hard to fit or they catch it any modifications needed?

Plus what tyre width would you go?

    Cheers

Tyre wise, 195/45 would be a nice sensible stretch.

You'll probably have fitment issues though, they're pretty wide. Also depends on the offset.

shouldn't have too many problems mate as said you will need stretched tyres as long as there the correct offset they should be ok. Only one place stretches tyres round the leed's area and that's HIQ tyres down geldard road.

    Its all about the offset..

Got 20mm spacers on the car already do should be ok just tyre size I was worried about

Look on the wheels for offset and tell us that.

Why not just jack your car up and try them if you allready have them?....
  7. #7
How do you measure the offset?
  8. #8
should have it stamped on it somewhere

135 I think, my only problem is I don't wanna Invest in some tyres that ain't gonna fit right
  10. #10
    It'll be written as folllows

ET0 or ET25 etc etc. Doubt it would be 135
  11. #11
    ET125..

Fuck theyre going to give you a wide track
  12. #12
    Et 15...
  13. #13
ET 15 is standard saxo offset IIRC?

my wheels are 7 J and have 195 50 15 tyres and when i go over rough ground the tyres catch slightly now and then on the bracket on the outside corners of the rear bumper, fronts however are fine.

i would use 205 45 tyres or 205 50 depending how much you are lowered.

Talking from experience, I'd use a 195/45/15 tyre on the wheels. Will be a little strech and less chance of scrubbing. And there cheap and quite common tyres (same as vts tyres)

Test fit is the only real way you will know if they fit..

My borbets fit with 10mm on the fronts and 20mm on the rear so you cant guess

im running 195/45's on mine look fine and tuck in the arches

I had to remove my rear seats in my sax so on one could sit in the back with my 8" wheels they were ruining my rear arches
  17. #17
I've just bought gaz coil overs for the front so that's no worry about ride hight. The rear is about 50/60mm
Running 205 gti alloys atm they tuck under just nice

What are the new wheels then get some pics up :-)

8j will cause you problems on back.

Let me know if you need a hand with the Gaz coilies, I fitted mine last year so know how they go together!

If there et15 how come ur using 20mm spacers? they fake splits then? if there real just get some smaller dishes that the idea of modual wheels.
As mentioned its all about the offset, u can just about get 9" on the back and 8" on the front. Or have a 7 or even a 6" wheel fill the arch enough with a negative offset.

As for tyres I use to run 15x8" wheels all round, the trouble with 195's on the rear is u cant get it very low. So i ran 185 on the rear and 165 on the front however 165's are quite a stretch (can be seen in my avatar). Still with 185's on the rear it wasnt low enough.
No offence to the guy but search username delboy n look at his stance although its good wheel/arch wise it just sits abit to high especially when viewed from the back (not helped by the saxos rear bumper)!
So personally id look to run 175's all round however not sure if anyone decent makes tyres in that size anymore.
