I've got a 1.1 and i wanna drop it 40mm, anyone got any pics of there's dropped to 40mm? im debating going 60mm but i'd have to change the shocks etc past 40mm? is that right.

so if it looks alright at 40mm i'll just go for that !

you dont have to change the shocks. apparently they wear out quicker if you dont but mine haven't and it was a risk i was willing to take

ah right, so if i want it dropped like 40mm im going to have to get 50mm springs to drop it even with the back??

i dont understand. if you want it dropped 40mm then buy 40mm springs?

drop it 50mm will look nice and doesnt scrape against every speed bump around leave the shocks how they are

you wouldnt be scraping anything at 60mm either. you dont have to change the shocks at that height but you might have shit handling/comfort and will probably kill your dampers.
best to change everything at once tbh

oh and the rear doesnt have springs. You just need to adjust the torsion bar to any height you want.

if i were you id lower it as much as you can, 1.1's are pretty high as standard lol

yep and go lower than you want it slightly because of engine weight . . . . .

    Drop it 60mm mate!

i would go 40mm it would look a bit better 60mm but you will end up running into problems with shocks ect.
ive just lowered my vtr 40mm and ive started getting rumbeling noises from the drive shafts under acceleration as the cv bearing are in a different posion to how they have been run in.

mine is more than -60mm now and it only scrapes when pull into my very steep drive because of the vt bumper... and never on speedbumps

do you mean because the 1.1 engine is so light? do you know there is specific springs for models...

if you have a rumbling noise under acceleration then imo its defo from the driveshaft. thats because the inner c.v joint is goosed and nothing to do with the fact the car is lowered
