hi. my last 3 mots ive had one my saxo and one on my punto all had air bag lights on.

it passes but cant remember if its an advisory but that doesnt matter anyway, unless its for like worn out tyres so you have to get some fitted soon

Mot's have changed this year, airbags are now part of the test and will not pass with the light on

    The MOT's changed since 01.01.2012...

No lights on the dash will pass....

Take the clocks out.. Fit a small square of black insulation tape over the light, but under the thin clock paper... (wil make sense with the clocks apart)

    job done..

Ive had a few 2003-2005 clio's and they had airbag light problems... All tended to be the wires under the passenger side seat... Id give them a wiggle and see if the light goes out...

If not im sure their OBD2 ports... which you could get a reader cable off ebay, and some software on a laptop.... will tell you whats wrong... I had a cheap set up like that in the past, and could turn on and off allsorts of ecu settings, like the airbags, anti hijack etc..

If its anything like other warning lights though, they have to light up when the ignition is on and go off a certain amount of time after the car is started

In that case I appologise for the above statement

It is April or later this year.. but from what I read in an MOT testers mag... unplugging a light wont wash either...

If your car has an airbag, it must have an airbag warning light, must be working and must go on with ignition and off as it should...

    Haha no worries lol

And yes that's true they have to check all lights on the dash to be working and present.
So if u have a abs light on your 07 vw Touran and your abs pump is £800 your fucked!!!
