Hey guys just done the 8v alternator conversion on my 16v, all is good except one thing when the car idles and i drive it below 4-5k its fine but other that it will sometimes flick the battery light on and off, i checked connectors seem to be fine, could it be where its a 1.1 alternator it cant cope? As its 70A and vts is 80A, i used the 1.1 on my furio and was fine. Any ideas

#2Is it charging properly? Get a multimeter on the battery

#3Yer mate charges fine, dad tested it all for me. Its fine until i drive it hard and it flickers

#4have you checked belt tension? If its ok I'd suggest trying stronger alt then as it obviously can't handle under load, or live with the flickering if it is charging enough

just lightly flicker on and off.
mine a vts with vts alt so its got to be some sort of connection mate -
#8try a 80a alt mate what alt was you using before you did 8v conversion?

#9Ok cheers people, sam i was using a vts one but the bearings was noisey as fook, one of the reasons i did the 8v set-up. But atm it seems to be fine so ill see what happens
