ECU/Immobilizer re-code after ECU change.

   Hi guys.
   
   So as the title suggests.
   Is there a way with Lexia 3 or anything else to reprogram the immobilizer to function again after an ECU change?
   
   My ECU went faulty so i got a replacement from ECUtesting.com. Good service but now obviously it's unlocked and the immobilizer doesn't function.
   
   I questioned them about it and they said i have to send it back to them so they could virginise it. Then i take it into a main dealer to program.
   
   This is pretty much not an option as the car is in everyday use.
   
   Are there any other options i have?

   Unlocking isn't the problem good sir, its already unlocked.
   I'd like it matched back up again with my immobiliser so it works again.
   Can that be done?

   with great difficulty, possibly. It'd have to be taken to a citroen main dealer= time and money, and if you still have the original immobiliser keycard they may be able to match them up. I'm pretty sure the immobiliser and ecu are matched for life though, if one goes you usually have to get a matching pair. All i can suggest is searching for ecu/immobiliser matched pair and sub them both in

   Don't even bother putting on your immobiliser, fit yourself a toad or somert, I'm having serious problems with my immobiliser.

   the immobilizer on mine worked fine. I've had the car for about 6 years and I love it. But the new ecu is unlocked and that's the problem.

   There isn't a keycard. Its a mk1 vts. There is the keypad in the centre console.
   I know what my code is, i still have the dealer info with it on. I need this fixed because it will affect my insurance.

   ahhh, i haven't had experience with a mk1, only a mk2. i would assume the same would be true, ecu and immobiliser paired for life; all i could suggest was contact citroen and see what they say?

   From what I know, you can get mk2 keys reprogrammed.
   
   A main dealer for mine is a last resort. I know mine can be done. I'm hoping some smart Alec knows about some software that will do it.

   yeah thats what we all hope for with citroen, robbing gits, £60 an hour just for diagnosis is an absolute joke
