im about to swap my engine for another the same, the cars a phase 2 VTR
is there anything that i should know before attempting it?
just silly thing that arent mentioned in the manual etc

    cheers Matt

    are you swapping looms aswell
  3. #3
if its exactly same engine no need to use new loom everything should be plug and play take plenty of photos to remind you where stuff goes and take your time

As said, just take your time and make a note of where things go, there will be a couple of plugs on the loom you will miss first time. Make sure you have the car high enough off the ground, sounds stupid but it has to be pretty high! Also get a friend or 2 to help you. will make things a lot easier.

Lol in an ideal world everybody would have an engine crane, i'm guessing the op does not so getting it high in the air is the next best thing

Put some tipex (as a marker)on things like pipes/plugs etc will make it easier when you`ve plugged everything in & have a pipe/plug leftover mate.
