VTR 1.4/1.6 engine

Lads I'm lookin for a bit of info!! Basically in Ireland we get the VTR with a 1.4 engine, In the UK you lads get it in a 1.6 8v engine, Is the engine the same engine as the 1.4 only chipped up to 1.6 for the UK market or are they totally dfferent engines if so how would you tell are there any distinct marks on the engine to look out for.

I believe they are the same engine obviously one is a 1.6 and the other is a 1.4. Somebody will correct me if I am wrong and I believe they are not 'chipped'. The engine size is different.

Engand is the only place in the world where you find furios/;westys i think, as said everywhere else they are VTRs. Its a smaller engine with 75 BHP. The easiest way to tell the difference is having a look at the rear brakes. If they be drums then its a 1.4, disks are a 1.6

the 1.4 just has the same head, the vtr 1.6 has a bigger cylender capasitity.
