2003 Saxo Airbag Light

  1. #1
Has anyone had the same problem?

Air Bag light is on and I have already checked the wires under both the drivers and passengers seats.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my MOT is due on the 28th of Feb.

did you try unplugging them and plugging them back in again? they can be a bit dodgy sometimes, mine comes on when adjusting the seat lol.. other than that you could try taking the airbag off and checking your connections there too.

If you do decide to take the airbag off then remove the earth cable from your battery & wait 10mins.Otherwise theres a risk off getting a face full of airbag.

I'v had both seats out to give the car a good clean, and had the connector that goes from the air bag to the sensor looked at by a garage and they said everything is ok with the air bag and is probably a fault with the light its self.
am just a wee bit worried as iv read that the MOT has changed and that any warning light on the dash is an instant fail?

Should I take it to a Citroen garage? not really wanting to pay their £90 for a diagnostic.

Sometimes the airbag contact ring gives low resistance(when they get old)it fits behind the steering wheel. This will make the airbag light come on.Will get a pic for you mate.

Car went for an MOT at the weekend and sailed through it. with no advisory points, even though the light was on
