Important! : VTS swap on VTR exhaust

  1. #1
    Hi everybody,

I'm about to get a cat back from Janspeed (JSSS823) for my VTR because the original exhaust has a leakage and it's all rusted.

However, in the future I would like to have a VTS swap on my car, my question before getting the cat back system is: Will the Janspeed cat back work with the VTS engine???

I know I will have to change the manifold if I do the swap because is a '03 model with mounted cat on manifold, but I would like use the Janspeed cat back after the swap. If not possible I might just get OEM replacement and wait....

    Thanks for your answers.

You don't need a decat pipe, the cat in your 2003 VTR is part of the exhaust manifold. When you put the VTS engine in the system will decat your car anyway as the cat sits after the exhaust manifold on the 16v engines.

The exhaust system will still connect up fine, you'll just need a standard centre section and cat come MOT time.
